Thanks for visiting, and telling me about you’re title, and the link ..another wonderful poem! Is it one of your favorites..? Is that why you chose it for the title of your blog..? I can see why it would be a favorite! I love that you associated the moon with a woman!!

Yes, it is one of my favorites. It was a poem that came to me spontaneously one dawn as I was driving out of Seattle. The moon was just hanging there over the Cascade Mountains and I heard the poem. I had to pull over and write it down before it was lost.
Wonderful poem that avoids overused images about the moon. Still, it reminds me of the day one of my children said the moon (a crescent) was like a half-eaten cookie.
I can see why you named your blog after this poem. I love your characterisation of the moon. I feel the emotion in this.

You create a poignant image here. Love the title and the ending makes me linger over its meaning.
I really like the image of a moon emptying itself of light at dawn. Gorgeous.
I love it. I love the pairing of amputated with moon, amputated woman, half a woman, empty. Excellent!
