Pine Pollen

Pine pollen lies thickpinecones1pollen.jpg

fertile golden pearls falling

on grass and rooftops

floating in puddles

yellow algae bloom

signal of impending spring

Pine pollen is magic. Ours will be blanketing our world before we know it. Thanks for this!

New to the country, I didn’t know that about pine pollen. I will have to keep an eye on the big pine trees in my back yard. I discovered this year that it changes color (subtly) with the seasons. Now I can watch for “golden pearls.” Lovely poem.

I’ll trade pine pollen lying thick for snow any day! This is lovely. I feel the yearning for the season in your words.

Nice poem. You descibed it so well. Stange thing, the pollen rides the wind up here to Maine before spring actually gets here.

    Thanks for stopping by gardenpath.
