Pine Pollen
fertile golden pearls falling
on grass and rooftops
floating in puddles
yellow algae bloom
signal of impending spring

Pine pollen is magic. Ours will be blanketing our world before we know it. Thanks for this!
I’m sneezing just reading this! This “magical dust”, has the most wonderful color of spring! Such an artistic ku!
Very beautiful moment, well done.
New to the country, I didn’t know that about pine pollen. I will have to keep an eye on the big pine trees in my back yard. I discovered this year that it changes color (subtly) with the seasons. Now I can watch for “golden pearls.” Lovely poem.
wow, nice big-little poem here pam,
that the pollen is the usher of spring!
what an idea!
…. can i link you up pam?
This poem recalls why I love sprig and why it spell misery for all the people who suffer from hay fever…
I love spring, but fall is my favorite.
Lovely imagery!
I’ll trade pine pollen lying thick for snow any day! This is lovely. I feel the yearning for the season in your words.
is that why i can’t breathe??…. im sneezing just thinkin abt it… tho it is a very beautiful poem….
What beautiful images you have drawn with your poem. Thank you.
Lovely imagery - and photo! There will be thick pollen here soon. For now, just snow and more snow.
Nicely done!
love how you use pollen as an signal of incoming spring.
wow!! that was imagery at its finest… i had to ward off an allergic sneeze just reading it!!!!!
Then there is the pine pollen that turns my red car to yellow
Nice poem. You descibed it so well. Stange thing, the pollen rides the wind up here to Maine before spring actually gets here.
Thanks for stopping by gardenpath.
You brought real life to the pollen. I can feel it!
