Remnants of Roots
the remnants of roots
lie locked in day’s ligature
what was dark is light
what was buried is unearthed
spent roots bound up with the sky

This is truly beautiful response to the prompt! I’ll be visiting your blog again.
ah, this is a great tanka and i love the accompanying photo.
This is lovely
and a reflection of the ultimate quiting.
Sorry I missed this the first time around. It is bautiful poetry! I just love the word “burled”! And that last line is awesome!
Written during a time when I was buried under work. So lovely to read now.
GReat use of the word ‘ligature.’ your spare, delicate poem seems to expose dualities and in a space of transition time.
Pam,
I can’t add more than what’s been said. I will say I’m very glad you left a link for “Little Lovin’ Monday.”
Very well written response to the prompt. Thought provoking.
and how wonderful it is to finally come to that place where you can see the past for what it is… at least that is how i interpret this…
