Partly Cloudy

Category: My Poetry

sun obscured

clouds gather

sky torn between gray

and blue

wind blows

temperature drops

seasons change

still—

the shadowy summer

rises from earth

she flirts with the blushing sun

the temperature rises

the young lovers embrace

life and love are born

This poem was written for

Rick Mobbs’ painting, “The Kiss”

at Mine Enemy Grows Older.

I really like this piece. I read it a few times, and keep reading it again.

Like this - particularly the line “the temperature rises” which links the lovers and the summer

Pamela, your words of poetry expand my appreciation of the painting! Thank you very much! :)

The spare, tender lines are just right for the eternal love you see in the painting, and describe so well in your poem.
