Unreasonable Summer

Category: My Poetry

July lies ahead

poured out like

shadows at dusk

the sun’s beams

are broad and indifferent

searing the air

into white hot

rather than blue

bound in humidity

the grass dries

the herb garden wilts

reasoned thoughts stray

only three more months

until autumn arrives

and the sky turns blue again

This was lovely! “A hot white sky” was a line I could feel.

I love how you can make a reader feel like they’re there in the heat. Your poem actually made me parched with THIRST..now I’m off for water haha… great job!!!

Here in the UK it sometimes feels like we’re still waiting for summer.
    situation normal.
    Enjoyed your poem, though.
