The Myth of the Moment
compressed
within a 4×6 border
the young child
stands knee-deep
in the cold lake
sunlight’s
halo in her
blonde hair
she is leaning
hand outstretched
drops of water
fall
but never
fall
the blue of summer
remains around her
in the myth of the moment

Stunningly beautiful. You always paint such a vivid picture, each unique and beautiful in their own ways.
lovely descriptions, like a dream you only dream when you’re in a haze state
I have several photos that create the exact feeling you describe here ever so beautifully, Pam. Thanks.
Beautiful images.

Wow! I love the photo and the poem.
Wow, from me, too! Wonder-filled. Much to ponder, as well. As in the varying shades of meaning for the word “myth” in the ending.
Your words echo, as do the black and white memories of childhood, the long, long ago, once upon a time days.
I really enjoyed your poem with its wonderful imagery! I like that sensation of standing “knee-deep in the cold lake” with the hot sun beating down. Beautiful picture of the water drops!
Pam, this is beautiful. I really like the way your words fall along the page. Keep up the good work. Have a nice day.
Stellar-sharp and wildly blue. Loved it …
Excellent poem and great photo!
Thank You for sharing.
In the myth of the moment – beautiful, true – if we capture,
perciece, the underlying message in each moment we will find
a myth, most often.
Wonderful illustration in words and photo that perhaps time itself is the myth… we only have the moment.
Beautiful poem. Beautiful photo. You really do capture a small mythical moment with your words.
