I just love the imagery you've woven around Rick's painting, Pam. "..had spun a nest.." is great image - my two small dogs do a lot of "nesting" in blankets, clothes, towels, and it's amusing to see them going round in circles and pushing and pulling to get things "just right" before plunking down in their little nests. Love this one, really. I've highlighted it along with the other poems that go with this painting over on my other blog, Poetmeister 4 Poets!

Beautiful one, love the "dog's nest." Although I'm fairly new reader of your blog, I find I'm already looking forward to your new poems/posts.

This particular dog is an australian shepherd mix who is way smarter than I am. She is an expert at getting out of yards. She loves to chase deer and visit other dog friends.

Oh, what it would be like to be free, like a dog.

When I was little, I would hang out with my dog in the back yard a lot. That was when I used to like to go outside and whatnot. My backyard was amazing, whereas now I don't even really have one anymore.

Oh, how I miss her.
