Nest by Polly Chandler

Nest by Polly Chandler

the nest was found fallen

alone and battered

among the dirt and debris of the season

three mottled eggs remained

an intact remembrance

of life denied

beginnings are often only

fragile dreams

blown down or blown free

The perfect shift in the last line to ‘blown free’ Love the photo too – a beautiful found object.

What a lovely poem, sad but still hopeful. I like the meaning of the last line, and that’s what gives me hope.

    “beginnings are often only
    fragile dreams
    blown down or blown free

Very nice imagery Pam and love the line about new beginnings – nice perspective! Thanks for your comment on Linsey-Woolsey (just found it today somehow…) I will be binding the 2nd copy in the next couple of weeks and would love to show it to you.

We should collaborate on a book project in the near future! :)
