How He Measures Up

Category: My Poetry
The Incredible Shrinking Man

The Incredible Shrinking Man

less and less

ill-fitting clothes

shoes too big to fill

smaller yet

the measure of him

still he rages on

less and less

the hours and minutes

tick slowly by

lost in existence

infinitely minimal

he simply shrinks

toward inches and millimeters

leaning against molecules

resting upon quarks

he is less and less

approaching zero

but never able to reach it

he simply never measures up
