A Brief Breath

Magnolias by Meri Arnett Kremian

Magnolias by Meri Arnett Kremian

the petals wait for a brief breath

to lead them into a graceful dance

the rain has gathered in the clouds

hanging heavy in the pewter sky

a drop falls into the pond

another onto the white petal

here is the intersection

of breath, rain, and petal

here within this simple frame

lies the sureness of life

It is amazing that drop by drop of rain can give life to a flower and also build an ocean…it is necessary for the life of all that survive on this planet earth.

    This is quite lovely
I slowed to take it in
and now have mingled with the petal, rain and breath…
    Thank you

Loved it — and so different from the haiku I wrote to accompany the photo.

Breath and rain- strong images to carry on life. The simplicity of this poem makes one take notice to the smallest of particles and how they sustain us. Well done. Have a nice night.

Such strength and tenderness intersect here.

Our magnolias fare pretty well here. They receive water every day from the sprinklers and breeze from the lake in the evenings. :-)
Every now and them Mrs. Jim ‘terminates’ a blossum by brining it inside for a bowl of water for table decorations. I believe doing that is ’sureness’ of a short lived life.

Nice. They remind me of magnolias here and about … the trees are such messy beasts, yet the flowers so fragile.

Magnolias extend their necks in invitation. Rain, breath, petal embrace. Fragrance released in the dip and the rise.
certainty in fragility, joy in surrender, infinity in a waltz.
    Lovely!
