Marilyn -- thanks! I hope, as a Jungian, you will forgive my simplistic understanding of archetypes ... I'm still not sure what they are. Also, I love Dr. T and the Women. Thanks for the insight.

Pat -- Don't feel bad: I never made the connection either. I love Dawn French, especially in "The Vicar of Dibley."

I love this post = Fellini and Dawn French!!

And in reference to Marilyn's post -I like "Dr. T and the Women", too - and it feels Fellinesque to me is a few other scenes, but I stupidly never made the connection between Fawcett's fountain scene and Anita Ekberg's until now. I think I need to watch "Dr. T..." again soon.

Fantastic. I love Fellini's use of dance in his films. As a devotee of Jung myself, I find them satisfying at a very deep level. You might also check out the parody of Anita Ekburg's dance in Altman's Dr T and the Women; Farrah Fawcett does a striptease in a strip mall fountain. I love that reference in this fine Altman film.
