Ibetolis,

I've seen a few more than that, but not nearly all ... many are not yet available on DVD. I've got "Boudou" on my Netflix queue.

There's a Lion's Gate DVD with 5 Renoir features for very cheap, including "La Marseillaise" from that golden period of the '30s.

'At the heart of Renoir is the heart'

I couldn't agree more with that statement, I'm always moved when Jean Gabin leaves the safety of the house in the hills in La Grande Illusion. Those moments with the young girl and her mother are some of the most touching scenes I've ever witnessed.

I've only seen that film and Rules of the Game, true to Bogdonovich's statement it was a transcendent experience, one in a series of moments that have nurtured my love of cinema.

I'm treating myself to Boudou Saved From Drowning next week, I can't wait.
