My Best Fiend, Part II
Oct 9th, 2008 | By The Tuscaloosa Strangler | Category: News & CommentNo, it’s not Barbara Bush, it’s Henriette Gérard, the vampire from Vampyr. Easily the creepiest — if not the greatest — of all vampire flicks, the film moves as if in a dream: flowing and nightmarish, and with its own haunted logic.
Ms. Gérard is a big reason for this. She manages to look grandmotherly and malevolent at the same time, and embodies the notion of the banality of evil. In your dreams, does the evil not come in forms we least expect? I know it does in mine . . .

That settles it. I’m watching Vampyr this weekend. I mean, I own the frickin’ thing, after all.
Bill, that is a great choice. I love that film.
